My city has laid a thick patch of asphalt over the road to my home. There are many potholes that formed from the struggle between winter and spring and the road just could not keep up with all the contracting and expansion of it all. This thick patch of tar is a band-aid for the real issue. This patching of tar has a thick drop off to the area, no shoulder, and I think as I race along that this sharp edge of tar with no shoulder or curb will crumble as well. It is a quick fix.
